- How did you come up with the idea for your business?
- I retired from the Orange County Sheriff's Department after a 25 year law enforcement career. The Private Investigations industry provided a natural transition into private buisness because I am able to utilize the skills and expereince gained during my law enforcement career.
- How long have you been in business?
- 2 years.
- What's been your greatest moment so far? (i.e. Signing your first client, getting the big order, some great PR?)
- Helping many clients resolve troubling personal issues.
- What was your biggest mistake?
- Running for sheriff against former Sheriff Mike Carona in 2006 because it wound up costing me my law enforcement career.
- What was your smartest move?
- Running for sheriff against former Sheriff Mike Carona in 2006 because, well, it needed to be done for one thing and no one else was willing to do it, but it also helped me develop the networking skills necessary to build a business.
- What are your business plans? (i.e. Expansion, franchising, selling for a gazillion dollars?)
- To build the premier private investigations business in Orange County.

My name is Yolanda Gellis. I own my own polygraph business, Truth Be Told Polygraph, based in Brea. I currently conduct pre-employment polygraphs for the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, and will soon be sub-contracted to perform post-conviction sex offender training for the OC Probation Department.
I have seventeen years law enforcement experience. I've worked for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and South Gate Police Department in civilian positions, and as a police officer with the City of Downey for fourteen years.
