The Strongest Woman I've Yet to Meet

It's not very often that something stops me in my tracks and gives me pause for thought. These days while working a little harder for a little less to try to stay ahead of the next guy I tend to lose focus. However this week I received a reality check from someone that I hope to call a friend someday.
Costa Mesa resident Lysanne Sebastian was featured in the Daily Pilot newspaper November 1, 2009. Lysanne suffers from breast cancer and sent a message to a group of friends updating them on her pr… Continue

Getting Better With Age?

Since I have a bit more free time on my hands these days, I am often called upon to shuttle the kids around to various extracurricular activities. One such errand included taking my teenage daughter and a few of her girlfriends to the opening day of a movie they had been dying to be the first to see. Upon arrival to the theater we were informed that the first showing was completely sold out however, tickets were still available for a later showing. The girls all groaned- what would they do at th… Continue

Can You Taste That?

Last Tuesday around 1:00 in the afternoon a good friend dropped by and we opened a bottle of wine. Don’t be alarmed, in the current construction market Tuesday afternoon is our equivalent to five-o- clock Friday… In other words we were pretty much done for the week. Anyway my friend starts in on how he can taste granite from the south of France in this wine. Now to be honest the last time I tasted granite was in the 4th grade and it involved a Huffy motocross bike and some garbage cans, two of w… Continue

Time for a Break

With the current and ongoing slowdown in the construction markets I have had the opportunity to spend a little more time indulging in one of my second loves, wine. One thing is for certain; when times are tough people tend to gravitate toward things that ultimately bring them joy. For some it is ‘comfort foods’, others enjoy the diversion of a good book, or tinkering with that classic car, for me however nothing beats a nice red wine. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a good dish of mac and cheese fro… Continue

Hi Ivan! It's a work in progress that's for sure! But you hit the nail on the head with the style I'm going for. Kind of a catch 22 right now need to advertise and be everywhere to make money- but that costs money ;) Plus I have kids! Crazy times ;)
