National Domestic Violence Hotline Census Report

I was looking for the 2009 Domestic Violence national statistics and ran across this report by the National Domestic Violence Hotline. I was unaware that this report was conducted, much less the information that it brings up is truly eye opening.
September 15, 2009 National Domestic Violence hotline conducted a Census. They had participation from 1648 programs (83%) nationwide. In this 24-hour period, these programs provided services to 41,097 adults and 24,224 children across the United Sta… Continue

yHope – Young Human Options Professionals and Executives

As a post graduate professional it is often difficult to find both time and an organization to volunteer with. Often it seems that it is impossible to find the right fit with other like minded individuals that want to make a difference in their community. It is also important in this current economy, to network with other professionals. yHope is a new group that offers both volunteer opportunities to help a great organization and networking events to potentially further your career.

Male Victims of Domestic Violence

Former 'CSI' star Gary Dourdan's girlfriend was arrested on March 16 after allegedly assaulting the actor. Maria Asis del Alamo was released the same day on $20,000 bail. Her court date is set for April 6. Several outlets are making light of the situation, being that a man was assaulted by a woman. Statistics show that female to male violence is extremely under reported due in large to situations such as this.

Hi Shana, nice to meet you. Congratulations on your recent achievement. Since I'm fairly new to the photo business, things have been quite slow with the economy and all. It would be great to work with you possibly in the future. Also, if you ever need to do any video work with the cause you're involved with, let me know. I may be able to help out. I spent some time this morning down at Dana Point Harbor shooting some stock video footage and some still images, as well. Keep in touch and thank you for your request.

I accidentally sent an invite with out a personal message. I support your cause and I am definitely right there with you. No one should be treated like that and there is a major ongoing problem problem that deserves the attention it needs. I can tell you are going to be big advocate for those who had to suffer the pain of domestic violence.
