During my 30+ years in the business of business I've been through most of the cycles: economic, business, personal, etc. There have been plenty of ups and downs, good times and not so good. The one thing I can tell you is that the key to getting through any of this boils down to our own attitude, state of mind, and view of the world. Easier done than said.
Too often when things get tough, we lose focus and are diverted from the goals and objectives we truly want to pursue. We succumb, relinquish control, lose faith and give up on ourselves. It's only when we recognize how simple and easy it is to stay on track... to keep moving in the direction we want to (should) be going, knowing that there are many different roads that will get us to our destination... can we ride out a storm of any dimension.
I would think that at some point, all of us have traveled down the road that, in our minds, was the "only" road. When suddenly that road washed out, we got out of the vehicle and attempted to "fix the road"... without any tools, let alone bulldozers. We never knew that back a few miles was an intersection leading to 20 other roads that would get us to our next place. And, each one was indeed, another opportunity in its own right.
Stay on track. Keep moving. Know the roads and be ready to make the turnoff when it's time. Don't become obsessed with the "how" of things... More often than not it's revealed to us as we go.
