Senior Excursion - San Clemente Garden Tour - June 20, 2009
I had the pleasure of taking 8 of our residents out on a special outside excursion. We received tickets to the San Clemente Garden Tour on Saturday, June 20, 2009. It was delightful, as I hired a "Big Wood Tour Bus" to drive us in style to the 5 Gardens. The residents had a ball! It was like going on a family adventure, getting on the bus, joking, laughing, getting on and off the bus to preview the different gardens. We brought sandwiches, chips and drinks for the ride to nourish us and keep up our blood sugar to preview the various gardens. At the end of our excursion, I took them out to a restaurant for appetizers and a drink. How fun! What I found out is.....residents are like you and me, we are all young, hip and happening inside. We had a drink and appetizers together, got to know one another even better, laughed and talked, then went home. What a fun day!!! Happy Memories.

Knowing what they did in the prime time of their lives, working, raising a family, going on vacations, taking care of siblings. What a joy! It's so satisfying to know, that the residents that live at our Community are happy and content. Summer is here! The weather is fabulous....so, we are bringing back "Aqua Aerobics"......we call it "Poolercise" It's popular among the residents and great exercise. This evening, I took 2 of our residents to one of their favorite restaurants, "El Adobe" She said the reason why she likes it so much, as the music, the atmosphere, the drinks all create a happy environment. So, we went on a Friday night..........it was packed and she was happy!. When she is happy, I am happy. Life is good!
